Yorktown High School kicked off homecoming weekend with an Oct. 3 pep rally at Charlie Murphy Field. Freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors showed their school spirit and squared off in dizzy bat races, watermelon eating contests, bobbing for apples and other contests. Homecoming weekend continued the following evening with the school’s annual bon fire. On the gridiron, the Huskers capped of the festivities defeating Horace Greeley 42-14.
